Photography has interested me since my mom handed me the family camera at the age of 4, so that she could be in some family photos too. I fell in love with taking pictures immediately, and four years later, I was given a Polaroid Impulse on my 8th Birthday. I became more serious about the practice sixteen years ago, and received a BFA from Concordia in Studio Arts, with a focus in photography, painting, and drawing in 2009.
It fascinates me that every photograph has the ability to freeze a moment in time, and that as a photographer I have the creative power to curate the way it's captured. Shooting for others, regardless of the context, is always an exciting and motivating challenge. My love of natural light, depth of field, and vibrant colours is evident in my portfolio, adding character and life to every shoot. Head over to my testimonials page to get a feel for what it’s been like for my clients to work with me!
I currently reside in Gatineau QC, and am happy to travel anywhere in the Gatineau/Ottawa region. I am also available to shoot in Montreal, Kingston, and Toronto, or anywhere in-between, with an added charge for commute/transportation expenses.
I currently shoot with a Nikon Z6II. I mainly shoot with a 50mm f/1.8, a 70-200mm f/2.8, and a 35-55mm f/4.0. I also have a digital two head flash kit from Elinchrom for portrait lighting that is transportable.
This is dependent on the type of shoot I have done for you. For event and family shoots, a small preview set of photos will be available within the first week, and the full set of edited, hi-res images will be available 2-4 weeks after the event was shot.
For business or editorial shoots it will vary from contract to contract depending on the time sensitivity of when the photos are required.
I use Dropbox. I create a folder for hi-resolution images (good for printing), as well as a separate folder for an internet friendly resolution. If you need help deciding which photos to get edited for portraits, I will make a suggestion folder with my favourites.
Photos shot with a 50mm lens are usually all good to use straight from the camera, unless you need editing for skin/ aesthetics purposes.
I edit photos to be clean and corrected. My editing includes colour balancing, lens warp correction, as well as correcting exposure and levels as needed. I will also remove small blemishes/imperfections/noise caught on fabrics (such as lint and stray hairs).
I can usually cater to any special editing requests you may have.
Can I get the RAW files from our shoot?
No, I do not share the RAW files. It is standard for photographers not to share the RAW files with clients due to the fact that they are extremely flat and bland looking. If publicly shared, they can damage a photographer’s aesthetic reputation as they haven’t been properly treated. What I do share is all the hi-res JPEGS, as well as the chosen edited ones in hi-res as well.
I noticed you don’t have weddings listed in your service menu anymore?
Correct. There are many factors that led me to give up shooting weddings, but I may make future exceptions with shorter shooting time blocks. It’ll be based on an individual case basis.
Once we have the specifics of the contract finalized, I require a minimum deposit (you may pay the full price beforehand, too) of 50%, and the remaining 50% to be paid within the first two weeks afterward. This can be done through e-transfer, a cheque, or cash.
